‘Tis the season to be jolly, Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Decorating for the holidays, oh what fun. Everyone has something they really enjoy decorating.
Maybe it’s the outside of your house? With blowups, light shows to music, trees magically spiralled or just your house outlined lighting up the night.
Or, is your thing is the Christmas tree? Each year a different colour theme on the tree, maybe a live tree or putting simply putting all your sentimental ornaments collected over the years on a beautiful display.
Whatever holiday decorating brings you happiness…just do it!

Winter Solstice – December 21st

This is the shortest day of the year. It is actually 10 hours and 6 minutes shorter than the June solstice!

The sun is at its lowest arc across the sky. This makes shadows from its light their longest! At noon, go outside and see how fantastical the long shadows are. (On the day of the summer solstice, you will see almost no shadow at all!)

Here’s to the first day of winter.
