The 7th Annual Rural Women’s Conference was held in Hylo on November 14, 2024. It featured a day filled with a variety of Speakers, a chance to shop at the very popular vendor’s market, excellent food and the opportunity to visit with women from the Lac La Biche area as well as some that ventured out from, Athabasca, St. Paul and Westlock. It also included fantastic doorprizes from generous businesses and individuals in our community.
The Speakers this year were: Katelyn Duban – Own you Story: Inspiring Tales from Rural Women, Sean Milne – RCMP – Fraud Awareness, Musical Entertainment by Girlz with Guitarz, Donna Feledichuk – Wildlife Photography, Tina Skakun – Her Personal Story and Camilla Jones a comedian with her life story packed with her sense of humour.
This yearly conference is organized by a group of dedicated volunteers with the goal of Empowering Women in Rural Life.
Next year’s event will be on Thursday, November 13, 2025 in the Bold Center Community Hall. Tickets go on sale October 6, 2025 at 8:00 AM at https://www.ruralwomensconference.com/.
