  • 1897: The first movie projector was patented by Thomas Edison. The projector was called named the kinetoscope; known as the forerunner of the motion picture film projector.
  • 1888 – First Jack the Ripper victim was found in Whitechapel, London: Mary Ann Nichols.
  • 1955 – General Motor demonstrated the 1st solar-powered car; the Sunmobile.
  • 1997 – Princess Diana, at the age of 27, died in a car crash in Paris.
