Forever Light will Shine
Well a soldier lay down on the hilltop
Over there where it's sunny and blue
All the troops have gone home
And left him alone
Commanding a beautiful view

And he dreams of the girl that he loved once
How he told her that they'd never part
Of a picture he brought into battle
A picture kept close to his heart

And the soul goes on forever
Love is stronger than time
All broken men
Will be happy again
Forever
Forever light will shine

All his medals they turned into flowers
And his clothes, slowly to dust
And the rifle he wore on his shoulder so proud
Is nothing but rust

And his tears ran down to the river
And the river ran down to the sea
And the sea turned into an ocean
And the ocean is you and me

And the soul goes on forever
Love is stronger than time
All broken men
Will be happy again
Forever
Forever light will shine

And the soul goes on forever
Love is stronger than time
All broken men
Will be happy again
Forever
Forever light will shine
