World Bird Migration is on May 10th, but the birds are already coming home for the summer. For the month of May, we will be showcasing all the “Birds of Summer”.

Some of the common birds you see that migrate: Canada Goose, Hummingbird, Great Blue Heron, Golden & Bald Eagle, Sandhill & Whooping Crane, Tundra & Trumpeter Swan, and the American White Pelican. Couple of fun facts on migratory birds:
– Some birds can fly more than 11,000km without stopping.
– The position of the sun, stars, magnetic field, and landmarks are ways that birds navigate their migratory route.
– Many species fly by night.
