🎄Why do you want to get involved in supporting the Lac La Biche 2026 Festival Of Trees?

So you are new to our community, or perhaps have a new business or a business that is ready to give back to the community. The Lac La Biche Festival of Trees is a great event that always needs support and donations and would welcome your contribution.

Established in 2010, this annual fundraiser and family-fun event was founded by a partnership between the J. A. Williams High School and the Lac La Biche Lions Club. The Festival of Trees Lac La Biche exists to provide an environment for students to volunteer and develop their citizenship skills. It also provides funds to support children and youth organizations and non-profit organizations whose objective is to enhance the lives of children and of youth in Lac La Biche County.

This festival has demonstrated how it connects businesses, non-profit organizations, students and residents, while showcasing local talent, and builds a sense of county camaraderie. Bringing the Community Together: This community festival creates shared experiences that helps unite people from all walks of life, fostering a sense of belonging and collaboration. Supporting Local Economy: This festival brings attention and business to local businesses, vendors, artists, and organizations, providing economic boosts through engagement and participation.

Giving Back to the Community: This festival provides many fundraising events and charity drives allowing for direct contributions to local causes and providing much-needed support to companies, organizations and individuals.

Encouraging Civic Participation: This event has sparked community involvement, increased volunteerism, and created a sense of responsibility among county residents.

Building Bonds with the Community: Hosting an event strengthens relationships within the community, creating trust and long-term engagement.

The festival committee is always looking to expand the activities/events to create a richer experience for all. Last year we started to focus on Cultural Celebration and will continue along with adding Promoting Recycle and Reuse as a new area to promote.

Cultural Celebration: This festival provides a platform to honor and celebrate the unique traditions, customs, and heritage of the local community, promoting diversity. Promotes Recycle Reuse: This festival helps sustain the environment for future generations by reducing the amount of waste that will need to be recycled or sent to landfills and incinerators. This allows products to be used to their fullest extent.

This August the festival was honored with being voted the 3rd of the Lakelands Best Local Events in the 2026 Lakeland’s Best Readers’ Choice Awards. How can I or my business start to get involved in the 2026

Festival of Trees Tree-mendous Week in Lac La Biche- Nov. 13-22

Our festival of trees fundraising event starts with a call for:

Holiday Tree Donation from individuals, businesses and groups. Tree set up is Tuesday, November 17 from 1-7pm at the Community Hall. Please only send those that are to decorate the tree. See the Tree Host when you arrive. Trees are on display Nov 18-22.

Each entry MUST:

be or include a tree (no less than 30cm or 1 foot) or be tree shaped
Free standing on table or floor- must include a tree skirt or something to cover the stand
no live trees can be accepted
If gift cards are included, please photocopy them and give the originals to the committee person
If batteries are needed, please provide enough for the weekend and give the rest to the committee person
Be registered with the committee. (If a tax receipt is wanted then enclose all receipts in the envelope and label with name and address)
If you are doing a ‘recycle/ reuse tree’ please make sure signage is placed
Remember that people/businesses can get together and build a tree If you would like to donate a tree but do not have the time or personal to pull it together do not worry! Call Venture Home Hardware Building Center and ask for Louise- 780-623-4663. Tell her how much you want to spend and the presents you would like it to have and she will put it together for you and even deliver!

Door Prize Donations from individuals and businesses. Please have these arranged for pick up or delivered by Tuesday, November 17.

You can donate as many items or services you wish
Every day we have door prizes being won
A regular tree ticket is filled out and deposited into the door prize box
Tickets not pulled accumulate in the box awaiting the next draws
Each evening the number of tickets pulled is determined by how many door prizes are being given out for that day

If you are a non-profit group you can volunteer to sell advanced tree tickets by for a day.

The committee looks for about 20 non-profit groups (with some type of a connection to children) to sell the advanced tree tickets and tickets during the event.
Must ensure the venues assigned in the community are manned by the non-profit organization
Will be paid a $500.00 honorarium for the day and promised extra money based on the amount left after all expenses are paid.
Must arrive at the ticket table and wait for the committee member to come, give tickets and the float. If no one arrives within the first 20 minutes, call the number given.
At the end of the shift wait for the committee member to arrive and verify sales and money.

Volunteer to host an event or activity during the festival. We are always looking for new events to offer during the festival. If your non-profit group has an idea for an activity that you would like to host, get a hold of the Chairperson, Pat Boon-Anderson 780 404 7911 and discuss it with her.

The committee pays a $500 honorarium to your group for hosting an event. Note: organizations have the right to continue doing the event the next year unless they decline and then a new organization to take over the event will be found.

School Music and Art groups: each $500
Bouncy Houses: $2500 a day
Balloon Creations, Face Painting or Family Photos: $1000 a day
Family Free Swim: $500
Checks are made out to Lac La Biche Lions Club, Box 2159, Lac La Biche, T0A2C0 or can be dropped off at Lac La Biche Registry: attention Carol St.Jean
Volunteer to help out during the event.
