Engaging Community in Cross Country Skiing!

Groomed Trails are supported in partnership with Alberta Parks at:

- Beaver Lake Provincial Recreation Area - Group Use Area has approx. 5km of classic groomed trails and is located 6km southeast of Lac La Biche off Hwy36. 

- Shaw Lake Day Use Area, Lakeland Provincial Park has approx. 26km of groomed trails and is located 25km northeast of Lac La Biche off Hwy 881.  Novice to advance.  All classic groomed with some groomed for skate.  The day use area has a cabin with wood stove to warm up!

- CLOSED FOR THE SEASON: Construction on the causeway.  Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park has approx. 8km of classic groomed trails in a loop around the island.

Bunny/JackRabbit/Track Attack Ski Lessons:

-For ages 4-17years. The focus is on active FUNdamentals!
-Programming is planned to begin on snow Sundays, January 3 - March 22/25. 
-Registration on LLB Ski Club FB Page LLB Ski Club FB Page
-Instruction held at one of the following: Lakeland Provincial Park: Shaw Lake Day Use Area trails, Beaver Lake Provincial Park. 
Fee $22/yr. Youth Lesson Fees: $22 + $10. 
Youth Ski Rental: $55/season.

Adult Learn to Ski Sundays 

4 Sundays - Jan 18, Jan 25, Feb 1 & Feb 8, 2026

Instructional sessions will be held at Lakeland Provincial Park: Shaw Lake Day Use Area Trails or Beaver Lake Provincial Park.

This will provide basic instruction in cross country skiing for adults.  Adults must preregister.

Fee: Adult Lesson Fees: $22 Nordic.  
Adult Ski Rental: $75/4 weeks

Ski Loan Program

Registered Bunny/JackRabbit: participants can use the club ski equipment on a first-come, first-serve basis for the season for a fee. 

Community Use: The Club ski equipment (boots, skis, & pole) is available through our Ski Loan Program for weekend use by anyone interested in skiing some beautiful trails in the area. The cost of a for using the ski equipment is a donation to the club, with a suggestion of $25 per person - for a weekend rental (Thursday to Sunday). Small group ski rentals can be arranged for local clubs.
