Summer Reading

Summer Reading Program runs the entire months of July and August and includes a new app to track your families' reading, a pen pal program, in-house scavenger hunts, Tale Trails at FCSS events, and 4 Take and Make Kits.

Summer Literacy Program

Lac La Biche County Library provides free tutoring for K-5 students in July and August.

Story Time

Join Successful Families Successful Kids this Summer at our Stuart MacPherson Public Library for Story Time! Designed for kids 3-7, this exciting program includes a captivating story readings followed by engaging, hands on activities and crafts. Come explore the world of storytelling with us and give your little ones a fun-filled learning experience.

Runs every Wednesday from July 5th-August 23rd starting at 1:30pm.

Read and Roll

This 6 week partner program between the Lac La Biche County Libraries, FCSS Young Family Connections, and Alberta Health Services specially designed for children aged 3 & 4. Read books and then roll with activities to explore the story concepts. This program will be held in the Wild Rose Room on Thursdays from 1:00-2:00pm.

Dates:  Session #1 – Oct. 5 - Nov. 9  &  Session #2 – Feb. 22 - Mar. 28

Note: Take home kits include the activity & books which need to be return to the main branch.

Evening Rhyme and Storytime

Join Lac La Biche County Libraries along with FCSS Young Family Connections for a new multi-generational program similar to our successful Rhyme Time. This offering will be held once a month on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30pm in the Wild Rose Room. No registration required and snacks will be provided.

Start Date October 26, 2023 - End Date May 30, 2024

Rhyme Time

This free partner program between the Lac La Biche County Libraries and FCSS Young Family Connections is designed for ages 0 to 5 and they must be accompanied by a caregiver. Sessions are held on Thursdays from 10:30-11:30am in the Wild Rose Room. Dates:

Chicka Chicka Book Club

Registration for this partner program between the Lac Biche County Libraries, FCSS Young Family Connections, and Alberta Health Services is required for each 6-week session. This program is designed for ages 18-35 months featuring stories and interactive play activities. This program will be held in the Wild Rose Room on Thursdays from 1:00-1:45pm.

Dates: Book Club #1 – Nov. 16 - Dec. 21  &  Book Club #2 – Apr. 11 - May 16

Rattle and Chat

This free partner program between Lac La Biche County Libraries, Alberta Health Services, and FCSS Young Family Connections is especially designed for ages 0-17 months. This program will be held in the library & the Wild Rose Room on Wednesdays from 1:00-2:00pm.
