- The first country music recording was made by Eck Robertson, a fiddle player from Texas, in 1922.
- The “home of country music” is the Grand Ole Opry. It was originally a radio show in Nashville, Tennessee that started in 1925.

- Honky-Tonk 1940’s & 1950’s (Think Hank Williams & Lefty Frizzell)
- Nashville Sound 1960’s (Artists such as Patsy Cline & Jimmy Reeves)
- Outlaw 1970’s (Rebellious, raw country by the likes of Willie Nelson & Johnny Cash)
- 1980’s was a transitional decade for country music where artists tried out different styles. This carried on into the 1990’s and still continues on now.
